Addict and alcoholic in recovery 3 years. Was prescribed trazodone 15 years ago… Between 200 to 300 mg every night. Worked great at the beginning but started to notice that with time, it worked less and less. For a few months now, trazodone completely stopped to work, and actually seems to create more issues incl. insomnia is worst, many nights with no sleep even with 200-250 mg every night, constipation, dragging no energy through the day, exhausted and yet unable to fall asleep with trazodone. was looking into medical marijuana as a transition to stop trazodone until i find a natural and successful method to get quantity/quality sleep. Not recommended to addicts. so that option is out the window… I feel terrible, dragging dragging day activities with no energy, and i see how it is more and more affecting my health… Feel like finding otions to treat my insomnia should be top priority for me. any idea? sugestions? similar experience? Honestly, i feel more and more doomed…

You might want to ask your doctor about cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). CBT-I helps you identify and address the thoughts and behaviors that perpetuate insomnia — and that’s what makes it so effective as a long-term treatment for chronic insomnia.
