I am been dealing with Insomnia for the last 2 months. I do research almost every day trying to find a way to resolve the issue. I try to put my mind in something else that insomnia because sometimes my head is exhausted of the same thing. I still take my prescribed medication every night but sometimes those pills do not work so I have to deal of being tired the next day. I tried natural products like Gaba, Magnesium, melatonin and all those work and I get relax but not able to go into the deep sleep. Unfortunately most of the specialist in this matter charge a ton of money for each visit so you’re end up taking medications because that’s what the insurance cover. Tried Acupunture, meditation, etc; those things help to control the breathing and feel better but I still can not fall asleep naturally as before.
Sometimes I remembered my good days of sleep and I really want that back! feel normal again and get rid of this that cause problems at work, with my family and not able to do a good routine at the gym again because I am tired. My research continue… and hopefully one day I will celebrate with a good glass of wine my victory!

November 17, 2018 at 5:07 am #24055Hi Martin,
There was a work change and I think that change caused the Insomnia and because of this I made some changes at work that will improve the time that I spend with my little ones. To me it is very important to be with them at this time. Toning I took only natural staff and it is been 2 1/2 Hours already and still awake 🙁
The improve will be at least to be able to fall asleep, better sleep regular 7 hours and feel normal.
Thanks for your nice reply!
November 21, 2018 at 12:51 am #24087I’m glad to hear that you were able to make some changes at work to help improve the amount of time you spend with your children.
If you are awake in bed for two-and-a-half hours, it’s a good idea to get out of bed. This is a key component of stimulus control and helps you relearn the association between the bed and sleep (rather than wakefulness). Over time, this will help make the bed a strong trigger for sleep.
Getting out of bed when unable to sleep also reduces the amount of time you spend in bed awake, tossing and turning, feeling worried, frustrated, and anxious about sleep.
Good luck on your journey, and do keep in touch with all of us!

November 22, 2018 at 3:18 pm #24126Hi Ximena, I know we have chatted together before and I just want to say hang in there, friend. I’m going through the same thing and I know what you mean, it consumes our thoughts to the point that we can’t focus on anything else.
Doing research on the internet can be good bad. Sometimes you find support and sometimes you get more scared. I’ve found this is true of many conditions – not just insomnia.
I’ve been working on CBT-I with a specialist and I do think it is helping. I’m far from cured and I have a long way to go, but I do think I’ve made progress. I know they are expensive and hard to find in may areas. Internet sites and books about this can be helpful if you can’t afford traditional treatment.
I’m a parent too and I understand your challenges. My first bouts of major insomnia came when my oldest was a baby, and she was sleeping fine but I’d worry about all taking care of her. A lot of my fear is that a lack of sleep with make me a bad parent. Just remember that you ARE good enough as a mom, a spouse, an employee. You are dealing with a health issue that MANY people deal with. You will get there, you just need to be patient.
Hugs!
