I got what I call fragmented sleep last night. I was not really sleepy when I went to bed. There was nothing good on tv to watch. I woke up all thru the night.

I did stay in bed, this helps me. I did have to go to the bathroom a few times which I know was sleep anxiety. I remember hearing Martin say you will have good nights and bad nights just like good and bad days. I had a little talk with myself saying think about living life and You will sleep later!

I have been sleeping good for 3 months so this was my first time waking up but I got thru it and hope to have built up some sleep drive and sleep better tonight. I had told a lady that I had got rid of my insomnia and she said well I hope it doesnt come back! I started thinking about this and then got my anxiety up. Anyway I made it thru a bad night and didnt make a big deal of it, crap night but that is ok to have them sometimes. That is life. I will sleep again.

Sounds like you have a good attitude. There’s always going to be bad nights here and there.

I’ve learnt not to say ‘I think I’ve resolved my insomnia’ as it does then seem to relapse a bit. It’s as if you’ve opened that seed in your mind again and you have to go back to all the brain work about how ‘it doesn’t matter if I don’t sleep, I can be patient, it will get better’
Keep those fear levels down and accept the bad nights without worrying. Remember you can’t control it so you will sleep when your brain is ready. Probably a good idea to go to bed when you are sleepy too. You’ll be fine.
