I have been on here for a few months and doing good most of the time. Some times I wake up at 3 or 4 but I just lay there and tell myself to relax. Going into another room always made it worse for me. Then I stay in bed until 6 am or 7 am. My sleep hours are 12-7.

The problem is I get so so sleepy before 12. I end up taking a nap around 9 pm for about an hour. Then I go to sleep around 12. I think if I did not do this I might sleep longer in the morning. I dont know what to do to stay up. I fall asleep on the couch around 9. Maybe this is as good as it gets. I use to not have a hard time sleeping until 7 or 8 before this insomnia took place 2 years ago. I still have some fear I wont sleep. Hopefully this will go away in time. I use to not be able to get to sleep and am happy to say I can now do this thank goodness. I may be expecting too much or it takes time. So glad I found this site, Martin Reed has helped me so much.

I dont want to get up at 5am. I am a night owl. I want to be able to sleep late in the morning, 7,8 or even 9 would be wonderful. 5 oclock sounds like the middle of the night for me! I also like to watch the 11 oclock news at night. I want to wake up later not earlier!

Then stick to it, enjoy your news if it makes you happy- that’s important!

With time, sleep drive should build. I sometimes have three nights of little sleep, then I feel confident Ill get some good sleep.

yes I am retired so I love to sleep later in the morning. Last night I sat up in a chair rather than lay on the couch and I stayed up an hour later and that helped. I slept until 8 this morning, felt wonderful.
