I was worried. I recently made the move from New York to California and am spending the next month traveling the West Coast seeing if I find somewhere I want to live. I logged in today wondering whether Insomnia Land would have died in my absence. I see it has not.
You guys are awesome and I am hugely thankful that you're keeping the community going without me. This is especially good as the community isn't about me – it's about you, so if it failed without me it would have meant that something was wrong.
I wanted to write this post to keep you all in the loop as to what I am up to and why I'm currently unable to spend as much time here as I'd like. Most of my nights are spent camping – with limited internet access! I do plan on hitting up a Starbucks or other such wi-fi enabled area at least every couple of days, so I am still around – I just won't be able to comment on get involved in discussions as frequently as I want.
I am still FULLY committed to Insomnia Land and know that together we have created a very special place here. It's up to all of us to keep the place going whilst I am drifting in the wind.
I am still always available via email, Twitter, or on here. Just give me an extra day or so to get back to you!

June 5, 2010 at 10:29 pm #11197I love to log in when I get access to catch up with you all. When I come on and don't see anything happening, it makes me sad. Unless of course, you're all cured of your insomnia?! 😉

Don't know if this'll cheer you up, but you've inspired me to replace my old tent so I can go camping over the next few months. Just hope it's barbecue weather on the weekend I go.
June 10, 2010 at 4:29 am #11200Martin, where are you now and what's happening there?

June 14, 2010 at 1:31 am #11202We're currently in Seattle – made sure I was in a large base to watch the England vs USA game. That's all we need to say about that!
Had a great time travelling up the West Coast from San Francisco and we reached the limits of our travels North earlier this week on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. Heading back down to SF now, but keeping our travels inland. Hoping to be around Mt St Helens tomorrow so my online access may once again be patchy.
It's great to login here when I get a spare few moments and see the community still ticking over – you guys are all awesome and it gives me renewed faith and confidence in this project.
Kik – Camping is awesome! We cave in once a week and sleep in a hotel, but other than that we are in the elements through thick and thin!
emmaree – I've seen quite a few sealions on the way up, yes!
