      Hello all,

      Recovering insomniac here……

I have been sleeping in a guest bed for a while to try and get as many hours of sleep as possible (3-5 hours per night) Been doing sleep restriction for the past several months which has helped, but have started weaning off of sleep meds the last 3 weeks. Sleep has been challenging while coming off meds. I really want to be back in my normal bed with my wife and have tried the past several nights. I am super tired before I go in our bedroom, but when I get into bed I get worried about things (will I wake up my wife, will I wake her up when I get up if I can’t sleep, what if the dog makes noise all night……). I end up going back to the guest bed and sleep better.

I really want to be back in my normal bed, but also need to be able to get some sleep while weaning off sleep meds. Should I stick with the guest bed or tough it out and learn to sleep in my normal bed with my wife.

      TIA

Thanks for sharing this natural, normal (and common) issue, @nozzzz!

It sounds as though it’s important for you to be back in your normal bed. How does sleeping in a guest bed help you get closer to that goal?
