Hello, I’m a recovering insomniac. Trough reading everyone’s stories I was able to regain some control of my situation.
My insomnia started on February this year after trying to abruptly change my sleep schedule. I could not start sleeping. I would go on weeks with sleepless nights, to sleeping an average of 2 hours. To not being able to sleep for 4 days straight. Went to doctors, psychiatrists, psychologist, but nothing worked. I thought I had this fatal insomnia condition. I was unable to concentrate for my exams and it was discouraging

Then I stumbled upon Martin’s YouTube channel which then lead me here. I enrolled for the emails. And through reading I came across the concept of letting go.

I did just that, not caring at all about sleep, I would do whatever I wanted. No rituals, no stretching, no vermilion tea. Just going to my bed and whatever happens, happens.
I relaxed a bit and voila, I could sleep 6 to 8 hours consistently. Of course there were rough nights still, maybe one or two sleepless nights every other week, but that didn’t bother me much. I still slept. I didn’t care if it took me 1 or 4 hours to get sleeping. Neither if I had slept 8 or 4 or nothing. I continued my day as usual

It’s still a process, and as like tonight, it’s not linear. I just don’t bother that much.
