Hello everyone. I am new here and in the world of cbt-i. I have been practicing sleep restriction for about a week and I believe it will be helpful (Two days ago I Had one night with 6 hours of sleep and only one time waking up which was unbelievable)

My question if someone has experience/knows:

if I have a headache Because of too little sleep, is 20-25 min of yoga Nidra acceptable (it helps me with headaches and fatigue)? As it is “yogic sleep”, I am not sure if it counts as a nap (I am disciplined and not napping during the day). Thank you!

Welcome to our world! LOL It sounds like you’ve already made some great progress with the techniques! How do you determine the headache is from too little sleep? I’ve practiced yoga nidra and although they mention that practicing that specific type of yoga is equivalent to “X” minutes of sleep, I wouldn’t consider it the same as taking a nap. It’s a form of relaxation and calm, not sleep. As long as you’re not taking daytime naps that diminish your sleep drive you’ve built during the day, you should be fine.

Thank you! The headaches appear after a particularly sleepless night (or a string of them), that’s how I know. Normally I don’t have them.

Nidra is a relaxation tool I Like a lot, glad I can keep it in my arsenal 🙂
