I am approaching a week with a bout of insomnia like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I had some very new and positive life experiences that got me very excited/activated which in turn seems to have caused some kind of anxiety spiral. I have no trouble falling asleep as I’m completely exhausted but I’m very jumpy once I’m asleep and wake up multiple times eventually fully awake by 3 am. I’ve got 3 kids, a busy work life and social life and I feel like I can’t handle any of it right now. Prior to this event I’ve only dealt with something similar one other time. Otherwise Ive been a deep sleeper and always found it easy to fall back asleep, often getting 9 or more hours per night. Is there anything different in the suggested sleep protocol for someone like me that has never struggled before? I feel like if I can just calm my nervous system for a few days that I can fix this.
