      Hi all,
On an average night i drink three 330ml bottles of 4.5% beer. This is within the guidelines of the uk government. I do not feel drunk afterwards only slighly relaxed and sedated. I typically sleep very well for around 7 hours. Does this mean I may potentially need alcohol to sleep? Am I going down a slippery slope? I wake up feeling refreshed, never hung over. Is this a bad habit I’m getting into or a perfectly normal thing to do?
      Thank you.

Nobody needs alcohol to sleep — all we need to generate sleep is to be awake for long enough!

As you suggested, drinking alcohol with the goal of creating sleep can be a bit of a slippery slope, so you might want to explore whether this is something you feel comfortable with.
