This is my first time writing a post. I only recently discovered Insomnia Coach and have started listening to the podcasts.

In 2018 I had to have eye surgery and went through a difficult time with insomnia. Now, once again, I am going to be have more eye surgery and find myself in a similar pattern with insomnia.

When I wake up at 2am or 3am (I do my best not to look at the time), and I am not falling back to sleep, I get up. I go to another room, find a place on the couch and read for 20 – 30 minutes. However, even as I’m reading, I can feel the panic/fear running the background. So, rumination seems to always be there.

If there is any guidance that can be offered on how I might better lower my struggle with sleep and the anxiety I feel about the surgery, I would welcome the input.

Since this is my first post, I hope asking this sort of question is okay.
