Can't sleep

      Hi I am 6 weeks post full knee replacement and since the day I had it done I can not sleep
      I can go 2 days with no sleep,just sat up all night
      I have taken herbal teas herbal sleep aids ,night nurse hot milky drinks
      I feel so sad and frustrated all I want to do is sleep,I feel like my brain is wide awake
      I’m not even tired in the daytime ,I used to sleep so well
      Please help

        It’s normal for sleep to be disrupted during times of change or stress — and I think a full knee replacement qualifies as just that!

        I suspect that your sleep will get back on track by itself, particularly if you avoid compensatory behaviors such as going to bed earlier than normal, staying in bed later, napping during the day, or canceling plans (or modifying your day) after a bad night of sleep.

          Been there! I had the same surgery December last year. While I already struggled with insomnia after the surgery it was brutal! To make matters worse I could not take ambien dude to the strong painkillers I was I was. It got better at about month 4 but I was also able to go back on my sleep medicine.
