      Of sleep deprivation…that is

Any thoughts on this side effect of the beast?

I know that when I was experiencing a couple of months of sleepless nights

I feared having to drive anywhere further than in my neighborhood. I had

to cancel visits to out of town relatives, which may actually make some insomniacs

happy, and other longer distance occasions

      Thankfully I work from home.

I wonder how some of you have coped with this?

I know it has been compared to driving drunk, which is

very sobering to say the least.

      Any thoughts?

      Thanks

My personal opinion is that sleep deprived driving isn't far off drink driving. It's though that just 2 hours of sleep deprivation can lead to cognitive impairment – so there's no way that long term sleep deprivation can't be considered to impair driving.

Interested to hear the thoughts and opinions of others on this.

I won't drive when I'm sleep deprived, no matter what. You are putting youself and others at risk. If I can't cancel an engagement I ask someone to drive me. Sleeping pills can take a toll on your brain too when you are driving the following day.

I live in Canada and the BCAA will take you and your car home if you are unable to drive and are away from home. Worth checking into if need be.

Yep , that's what I thought , not good at all to get behind the wheel

when sleep deprived. A very undesirable repercussion of this wretched affliction
