    ✘ Not a client

    Hi there.

I'm Ruth. I'm a teacher here in the UK. Kind of brain dead right now after a couple of full on days at work but I'll try to be less bleh in future.

History teacher, free thinker, bleeding heart left winger, edupunk and generally confused.

I have bipolar and am in the joyus process of trying to get help from the mental health system. My insomnia is very linked to my manic/depressive phases – either sleeping too little or too much. I find that teaching is a useful foil though, routine helps a lot.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

    Nice to meet you, Ruth!

Hi Ruth, I used to teach adult education (in a prison among other places) so I know how stressful teaching can be. I've been diagnosed with clinical depression but think I have a few bipolar tendencies – I'm pretty good right now. I know what you mean about sleep being linked with the emotional cycles – I'm exactly the same.

    Looking forward to chatting 🙂

Hi Ruth! History teachers are great — I got my first degree in Medieval History in Swansea. I like the sound of bleeding heart left winger and edupunk — wonderful to meet you!

    Hello Ruth, well met.

I fully understand the..ahem..joys of trying to get help from the Mental Health System (and trust me people who read this, the UK Health System is pretty mental!) to the extent I have pretty much given up on it…I hope you have better luck than I.

    See you around the boards!
