I used to fall asleep when my head hit the pillow,  that was the first 45 years of my life.  Then the next stage of my life, for the past 23 yrs, has been a real challenge.  I don’t have any healthy tips  to follow that have worked. I have used supplements, over the counter sleep aids, teas, etc.  nothing works for a “good” nights rest. I have gotten to the point that when I use a small portion of a sleep aid,I wake up groggy and sleep too many hrs sometimes.

Im just like you. What sleep aid do u take now? what works for me is to alternate, sometimes i take melatonin, sometimes Mirtazapine. Sometimes nothing works, and thats no fun.

I think in The long run, you need to find The cause to your insomnia, If its worrying, theres some methods to try. Or its just insomnia. Hope i helped you.

Hello Groggy Grandma (love the name by the way)!

It certainly sounds as though you’ve tried many things to help improve your sleep — but I didn’t see any mention of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) techniques.

Is this something you’ve heard of (or tried)?
