    Hello Everybody,
    It is my first post on this forum. I am having difficulty sleeping through the night since a few months. It became more serious since a month. I saw a doctor who prescribed xanor (a type of benzo) . I’m actually taking 0.25 mg daily together with 750 mg valerian. The initial dose was 0.5 mg daily. The valerian is helping me to decrease the xanor. I do not take any medicine on Fridays and Saturdays so as not to get addicted to Xanor. I want to get off xanor completely.
    Valerian alone does not seem to work for the time being. Can anyone help. Thanks

    Have you looked into cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) techniques? These will address the actual cause of chronic insomnia, which is always inappropriate and/or incorrect sleep-related thoughts and behaviors. Tackling the cause of your sleep disruption is probably going to be more helpful over the long-term than medication.
