For starters, sorry for my poor English. The first signs of my insomnia appeared at an early age (14 years old). For several nights for several years I could not sleep until morning. At 17, without any warning, I just stopped sleeping. I am 23 years old now. I tried all the available methods to cure myself. (lifestyle change, vegan diet, isolation in nature, meditation, psychotherapy, ignoring insomnia, extreme physical fatigue) nothing helped, my body sleeps only when it wants to. It’s usually one of three nights. I have short breaks when I sleep quite normally so the insomnia comes back again. My record is 7 days and sleepless nights. Still, I try to be positive by force, although I believe that I will not live like this for long. How are you today?

Welcome to the forum! I think it might be helpful for you to start by challenging your automatic thought that you stopped sleeping from the age of 17 to a more accurate thought that your sleep got worse from the age of 17!

Of course, it’s impossible to stop sleeping and to go for six years with not even one minute of sleep!

It does sound as though you’ve tried a lot of things — but I didn’t see any mention of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) techniques such as sleep restriction and stimulus control.

Let me reassure you, too, that insomnia has not been shown to cause any health problem or to increase mortality.

        I hope this helps.
