Really glad you did well last night, I am going to speak to the doctor in the morning. I slept ok last night, but like you, I went to bed exhausted, woke up about 4.am, took a 5htp then went back to sleep after an hour. Never taken the 5htp before in middle of the night. I know I need something stronger. Yes will look for Martin’s sleep coarse, will try and find. I might try and up the Phenergan this evening, see how I go. Have to take it about 7pm for it to take effect, for when I go to bed after 10pm. You can’t take it in the middle of the night as does not work.

My last shift at work was so awful I wanted to die. I am considering quitting. This was consequently last night, the night before being the most sleep I’ve gotten in weeks. My depression is now an angry one. I am surviving biologicly, but this is not living! I am in misery. I will be calling in sick to work tomorrow, to be perfectly honest. I can’t do it again. I fantasized about running onto the highway outside my store. This is what my life has become. I can’t stop crying. I am faithfully doing Martin’s free sleep course. I realize it’s only day 5 but if this takes weeks or months….

I feel exactly the same, it affects every part of my life, work, home life, everything. I tell myself everyday, I’m going to beat this..

At least you can have a piece of positivity in this, that’s good. That you can beat this. Are you sad too, like me?

Yeah I mean I feel like I’m fighting a losing battle most of the time, I mean its difficult to stay positive too. I know its making me ill. I’m not getting any younger, kind of at point where I’m struggling big time. Yes I feel sad too, very. Bad night tonight, will go downstairs to feed the cat and make a drink. Its just before 5am at the moment.

It’s 11:50pm here right now. You said you’re not getting any younger, me neither. I’m 44.  My eyes are really blurry but my brain is awake. I already took my meds.  I would like to sleep.  It’s hard to deprive yourself like they say you should. It’s very uncomfortable. I decided I’m going to work tomorrow. I never call in sick.

                  • Yes call in sick, I’m 53, my eyes get dry, though I have eye drop I use. My eyes will still be tired. My brain is wide awake too. But have made a herbal night drink, so may help me to relax a bit. If nothing else.

It shouldn’t be too bad it’s only 4 hours and only 2 I have to deal with customers. I work at a local store in CVS Pharmacy. But still it will be 8pm to midnight. And my job is very physical.. By that time of night I can barely keep my eyes open. My insomnia is terrible for my work especially that late. I do better early in the morning for some reason. And I can’t cry at work again. It’s embarrassing. Most of the people I work with are nice though.

Yes can imagine the late shift being difficult at that time. I would be exactly the same. I’ve not long finished..

I’m going to try to set up an account today. Maybe I can find you by “Dival”. Maybe. I know we can’t give out info on here so I’ll do my best to search. Wish me luck. Then we can talk.

I was in your place just a short while ago, having nights of no sleep or maybe just 2 hours. I was a zombie during the day. But the worst part was my emotions – I was in despair and beginning to have panic attacks after months of insomnia. A couple weeks ago I hired Martin. I got started on a strict sleep window and using SC. I am doing so much better! My sleep is much better and emotionally I’m at a completely different place that was hard to imagine just two weeks ago. It’s worth it to hire Martin and get the professional help you need. It’s not worth it to keep on suffering, when help is available. He’s the expert on helping people with insomnia like you and if you do what he says, even if difficult, you will get better. There is hope!
