    I completed Martin’s course and I’m happy to say I’ve been sleeping much better. I had previously been waking up in the middle of the night for up to a few hours at a time, more nights per week than not.

    There are many useful techniques but I found the sleep restriction approach (not napping and going to bed and waking up at the same time most days) to be really helpful. There’s also an exercise to write down my worries and to-dos for the next day, that’s helped to cut down on mid-night awakenings due to anxieties. Unplugging the bedside alarm clock has helped too.

    If still have the occasional bad night or awakening but those nights are far fewer now.



    That’s wonderful news, @bsquared33! Building a strong sleep drive, as you did, is vital in powering through the night without sleep disruption! As you mentioned, managing your thoughts/anxieties by writing them down is such a beneficial strategy. Excellent news!
