I was recently approached by a representative from Prescription Audio – they want me to try out their Nocturne audio product (and probably review it on the blog). However, I want one of you guys to try this out instead. You can view the instruction manual in the attached PDF.
There are two MP3 files – if one of you would be interested in trying this out (absolutely free, of course), then please let me know.

If you would prefer ongoing phone or video coaching calls as part of a powerful three month program that will help you reclaim your life from insomnia, consider applying for the Insomnia Mastery program.

July 3, 2010 at 5:54 am #11278Hi Martin,
Sleepless In Ohio (siohio) here,
Hopefully someone within this great group will try and have success with this product.
I did dabbled for a time in the arena of “brain entrainment” . . . whether it be binaurial beats or something other. I purchases a series of Dr. Jeffrey Thompson tapes and found them to be more disturbing than comforting . . . . but perhaps this was just me.
I do believe that the important thing is that we keep trying, and stay open to new ideas.
Thanks again for this website.

There would be no stipulation or obligation – I think the mp3 file is around an hour long. Perhaps it could be tried for a week or so.

I completely agree. Everyone is different – what works for one may not for another; that's probably why insomnia is such a huge challenge and hard to relieve.

Is it just background noise or is there a voice guiding you?

There isn't a voice – it's a mixture of different music and sounds. There is an hour long program, and another for 'evening meditation' that's 25 minutes long. The accompanying documentation suggests you should experience better sleep after 2 weeks using the program.

I haven't tried it – I wanted to give the opportunity to a member of Insomnia Land. The best thing you can do is give the PDF I attached in my opening post a read.
If you're interested, let me know 🙂

I'll give it a go for two weeks 🙂

Thanks for trying this Kik. I'll be eager to see how you do. This is not hypnosis . . . in different states of relaxation to excitement your brain generates certain frequencies. The theory is the sound therapy encourages your brain into relaxation frequencies. It sounds perfectly safe and different variations have been around for awhile. I googled it this morning – btw – I google everything. This same product was recently selected for use in the military for helping with stress disorder.
Just a random find, if others are curious, the soundhealingcenter . com launches with an example of what it sounds like. (It sounds simlar to the CDs I tried.) I know nothing about this website.
Kik, I hope sound therapy works for you.

I tried a similar one using Solfeggio frequences (similar soundtrack of waves crashing in the background) although that was for general relaxation, not directly to aid sleep. It was reasonably effective but with tracks entitled “DNA activation” and “Restoration of Spirirtual order” it was a little too 'Age of Aquarius' for my taste 😀
This sounds like a more sophisticated version of what I've used before. Fingers crossed it helps 🙂
July 12, 2010 at 4:11 am #11287This is kind of a side note, but I have an amazing ambient sound generator that often helps get me to sleep. You need an iPhone or iPod Touch but it is far better than stuff I've paid way more money for. (I think the app was like…$5). It allows a variety of looping (long) sounds that can be adjusted, mix mutliple audio tracks, everything from rain to wind to chimes and everything in between, you can adjust a lot, like you can keep it running all night, or set a timer, or have it gradually reduce itself to mute. I'll have to get the name later, I'm sorry, only up for a few secs.
July 13, 2010 at 9:29 pm #11288OK, Kik – I'll PM you the links/info so you can give this a go. Would be great if you could report back after 2 weeks of use with your thoughts 🙂
