      What really worked for me is knowing about sleep/wake cycles. I set my alarm the same time everyday, the only exception once a week a bit earlier because the gym I attend is very popular and I have to be there early once a week for a yoga class. This has worked well.
      Next thing is giving up the struggle, realising I’m over it once and for all and being kind to myself and catching myself if I even think in a way that can lead down the rabbit hole.
      Realising my old habits of superstition around sleep fears, for example worrying even before the event where I have to sleep somewhere else. I was setting myself up for a struggle before it even happened.
      I now think like a teenager or a child I don’t think about sleep I just go to bed when I’m ready which is usually around the same time.
      I also think exercise is good. I’m 67 years old and regularly attend a gym lifting heavy weights, also doing a dance class and yoga class once a week plus I walk 2 to 3 times a week and eat healthy too.

        I recommend doing the course as it helped me a lot. There’s a lot of useful information. Hopefully it will be helpful to others as well. It’s like anything new it takes a bit of time to work but if you’re patient and just do it, it should make a difference. You realise you’re not alone out there.

          It sounds as though you are fully committed to actions that serve YOU and the life you want to live rather than sleep. As a result, you are far less likely to struggle and you have freed up more energy and attention to do things that matter to you.

          As you mentioned, change takes time. It’s also rarely easy and there are going to be ups and downs. You clearly have an awareness of when you are getting pulled back into a struggle and are able to respond in a different way. This is evidence of your growing skill and personal growth 🙂

            I really connect with your description”sleep fears.” It’s like a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you keep telling yourself, you can’t sleep of course you won’t. I know this Intellectually and logically and hope that by signing up for the two weeks of emails as a jumpstart to doing the program. Thank you so much for sharing.
