Are all your tattoos just going to be words, Franky or are you going for any images, too?
I had never thought about tattoos in the way you describe – seeing the pain as an integral part of the process and having a huge amount of meaning. I wonder if others feel the same way.
I know Lindsay is getting new tattoos today and tomorrow and look forward to seeing the pictures!

Lindsay's Tattoo is awesome!
The one I decided to be for all my friends who have died from drug addictions and the ones who've beaten it is an image and I'll design it myself in my head and have my sister who's an artist draw it out.
I think Tattoo's are about expression, a lot of today's culture just get them to conform, every girl I went to school with and I mean it, has a star and butterfly tattoo, people who want to get a tattoo can get whatever they want, as long as they know the consequences.
To me Tattoo's besides being about expression are a way to memorialize someone dear to you.
The pain from the tattoo's is going to have meaning in it's own way, and the tattoo's will have meaning to me in their own way.
April 9, 2010 at 2:32 pm #10245Thanks, Franky! I'll put up a pic after the other side is done, Martin.
April 10, 2010 at 4:25 am #10246I finally got my stars done! Whoop! And Boo, because they hurt something fierce. My guy is good, but not gentle for the most part. LOL Here's some pics, and I fully expect to see everyone else's tatt pics in here, too. 😉 (Hope these can be viewed larger, too. lol)

April 12, 2010 at 2:02 pm #10247Wow! I didn't realise how big these tattoos were going to be.
Love the familiarity of one of the stars in the top photo! 😉

April 12, 2010 at 2:17 pm #10248Well, Martin, tbh I didn't envision them so large, either. LOL But I love the result! Up next is an arm piece. Later later.

I got one when I was 16 — way before having tattoos were cool. Then, I got bored about 5 years ago and got one on my lower back. Which I'm now trying to get rid of. It will take 4 sessions at $200 each to get rid of it. I've done one session. Three more to go 🙁

I only spotted this the other day as your Twitter profile picture – it's awesome! I'm quite inspired by it.
I do have commitment issues when it comes to ink though. I have several piercings but, even though I don't, I always know I can taken them out.

Thanks! I love my tatts. They're very addicting. Don't have one single piercing, though. LOL
April 21, 2010 at 7:26 am #10252I have 7. The most recent is actually a cover up of the oldest so if you count one layered over a diff one then in a way I would have 8 but only 7 that are visible
Some of them sound silly but they all have a reason & special meaning to me.
An Orca splashing out of the waves on the inside and front of my right ankle.[attachment=7:orca cover-up – Copy.jpg][attachment=8:Mobile pics 030.jpg]
A 1950s era Mickey Mouse w/ the “pie Eyes” on my left ankle
Tinkerbell on my right sholder
A Cardinal head w/ an Old English L on my left shoulder
A dolphin jumping from the water around my belly button
A white ink Japanese Kanji on the base of my neck that I designed w/ help from my artist. It says Yume which means dream (I studied Japanese and made sure to get the proper symbol and stroke order for my meaning)
[attachment=9:Yume.jpg]
A purple butterfly almost in silhuette w/ a purple awareness ribbon angled just below the stem of the butterfly as a symbol for lupus awareness which I try to promote as actively as I can.
[attachment=6:lupus piece.jpg]
I'll try to add pics of the others as well if ya'll would like to see them, just don't have them on this computer.
I am working on a plan for a new piece but haven't got it quite worked out in my head yet.
April 21, 2010 at 6:58 pm #10253Thanks for sharing your tattoos with us – I love it when people upload photos.
Awesome stuff 🙂

That made me giggle. Tattoos aren't for everyone, painted stars are just as lovely!
April 26, 2010 at 8:40 am #10256I just need a good artist and I will post it as soon as I have it…
🙄
April 26, 2010 at 3:03 pm #10257More Insomnia Land stars, or ones of your own design?
We might have to only let new people join that have the sign of Insomnia Land tattooed somewhere on their bodies…
Or would that be too cult-like? 😎
