Kik✘ Not a client
It's my birthday this weekend, I'm dressing up for a Rocky Horror Sing-a-long event and the weatherman had just predicted an end of week heatwave.
No shivering in the queue for me. This makes me happy 🙂
Kik✘ Not a clientTea! Lots of different types and variety is the spice of life 🙂
Sweet or savoury?

I'm a comics geek, one who can retell you all the long complicated plotlines of my favourite ones, going back years (Phoenix Saga? Pish. Got that stuff down). Batman has always been my favourite. He always will be. I plan on my next one being the Superman logo on the other side, as he is my second favourite. DC ftw.
I'm a massive Batman fan too! Phoenix saga, seriously? Are you actually Prof Brian Cox with a psuedonym? 😀
As for comics/ graphic novels my bf is the Neil Gaiman fan whereas I'm more of an Alan Moore buff although recently I have been pinching his Lucifer graphic novels – so far he hasn't noticed.
Love, love, LOVE the Batman tat and the long sleeve T you're wearing in the pic – I have the same top 😀
Kik✘ Not a clientFamily Guy all the way 🙂
Han Solo or Luke Skywalker?
Kik✘ Not a clientHi Mike,
Nice to meet you!
I also write fiction and I have a fondness for American muscle cars (in particular the early 70s Buick Rivera with the tail design on the boot/ trunk. When I grow up, I'd like to get one).
The fact your insomnia stems from 1979 also hit home for me – it's the year I was born!
Welcome to the forum, it's a great place to hang out 🙂
Kik✘ Not a clientI write cynical too.
I spent ages trying to put my feelings about being a chronic people pleaser to an unappreciative and/or exploitative crowd, teacher, interviewer, employer into 140 characters only to find Lao Tzu had already done it:
“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.”
Incorporating it into my reality is the difficult part.

Nuh uh. Love is never a choice. Love blindsides you and smacks you across the face so hard you see stars. Then you're in it's trap – no control and no release.
Acting on that love is the choice.
I have known families wrecked by people acting on their love. Grandparents who will never meet their grandchildren because they can't get over who their child has chosen for a spouse. If love was a choice, this couple would never have chosen to fall for each other. Heck, if love was a choice, I would never have chosen to fall in love at all before now.
'Hedwig' wrote on '28:“We always believe that our first Love is our last, and our last Love is our first.”
Never have I read a truer sentence 🙂
Kik✘ Not a clientIn my experience, I've never been taken seriously when I've described myself as an “insomniac”. Telling people I'm not a morning person seems to get more empathy.

Kik✘ Not a clientHi Caers!
Nice to see another poster from my timezone 😀
I can relate to having held down a lot of jobs and in my case being fired or paid to leave them.
Hope to get to know you better on the forum 🙂
May 9, 2010 at 8:33 pm in reply to: How important is Sleep…and how much do you actually get…??? #10861Kik✘ Not a clientI'm the same. I need between 6-8 hours sleep a night to achieve full functionality but I haven't had that on a regular basis for over a year. Generally I get about 3 or four hours but with long periods of lying awake in between. I think I read somewhere that REM sleep is tied in with memory and I can definitely say since becoming a chronic insomniac as opposed to an occasional one, my long term memory is terrible and I am constantly forgetting words in the middle of sentences.

Love it!
