I hope to be there 🙂
yamerias✘ Not a client'UliHarp' wrote on '20:Great topic! I watch a lot of movies; I guess I could say I'm an amateur film bug. The latest (good) movies I've seen lately are Black Swan, Fur: The Imaginative Diary of Diane Arbus, and Elizabeth: The Golden Age. To be fair, though, it wasn't the first time I'd seen “Fur”. I just like watching it every now and then.
Film nut eh? Awesome!!
Fave movie/genre?
How many DVDs/BluRays you got? Downloads? 😀
'Martin' wrote on '20:Good luck with keeping that title with Yam around – you'll have to arm wrestle to decide who is the biggest and best amateur film bug at Insomnia Land 😉
I do indeed like my movies!!!
'Martin' wrote on '03:Last night my wife and I watched 'A Single Man' – it's directed by Tom Ford and set in the 60s. It follows Colin Firth whose partner dies in a car accident and as a result Firth decides he wants to end his life. Throughout the film there are distractions to his plan and it's a long period of reflection (for the viewer and the character, I think).
My wife picked it from the Netflix DVD queue as 'her' movie – she didn't think I'd like it. I actually thought it was pretty good, though. Has anyone else seen it?
Not seen it yet, but want to looks like a great movie.
I went and saw Thor in 3D last week (the day before being AGAIN in hospital!!!) and I must admit it was pretty good, and things are building up for the upcoming Avengers movie nicely…the scene after the credits of Iron Man 2 is shown too (not say what that is in case people have not seen it…spoilers and all!!) and there is a scene after the credits on this movie too (Marvel seem to be doing that a lot with their movies it seems!!)
I also bought Tron Classic (I'm now waiting for Tron Zero and Diet Tron to be released ;cP ) and Tron Legacy on BluRay and they are pretty damn awesome!
Hoping to see Fast and Furious 5 in the next week or so, looks pretty damn good…oh and Captain America: The First Avenger too in 3D!!!
yamerias✘ Not a clientGood to see things are quite sunny for you 🙂
As for me….
GOOD TIMES
- I'm still eating Cheetos! That “Marvin” fellow was so kind 😉
- Tron Classic, bought this and Tron: Legacy on Monday on BluRay and it was great to see the original in hi-def!
- Skittles…in the UK they currently have limited edition bags with blue ones in!
BAD TIMES
- I'm currently in hospital again although with any luck luck I'll be discharged today. Had a heart rate of 217, extremely low blood pressure and wasn't feeling too great!
yamerias✘ Not a clientHey Uly,
Always nice to see fresh faces here…although you may not always see me around much!
I hope you enjoy your time here and see you around the boards 🙂
yamerias✘ Not a clientWelcome to the asylum 😛
Yes, unless you suffer you don't understand…and the amount of people who say going to sleep is a case of closing your eyes is frustrating and they all need a giant slap.
So where you from? What are your interests?
yamerias✘ Not a clientMusic music music…I'm listening to a lot of music right now!!
I have had some serious bargains too….
I was able to get over £40 of music downloads and an audiobook for free from eMusic, I had a voucher in the box of my new stereo, and somehow I was able to use it twice which was cool!! Then, I went to www/ministryofsound.com and was able to download Anthems: Electronic 80s for £1.99, this is a 3CD set if you buy a physical copy!!
Currently I'm listening to Coldcut's albums “Let Us Play” and “Let Us RePlay!” (Thanks eMusic!!) I used to have these on CD, but moving around I've misplaced them/some git nicked them.
yamerias✘ Not a clientMy iPhone (entertainment, essentials and communication in one small and convenient package!!)
My medication (helps me as I'd like to stay alive!!)
Cheetos (they make me smile!!)
yamerias✘ Not a clientMy flatmate says it is epically awesome and a must watch…I've not seen it yet though!!
I want to see Fast & Furious 5, here in UK in a couple of weeks!!
yamerias✘ Not a clientWell fortune seems to be smiling on me!!!
GOOD TIMES
- I discovered a voucher in the box to my stereo that gave me £21 of credit for an MP3 download site….and when I exhausted the credit, and said I wanted to cancel my account they gave me an extra £5 credit to convince me to stay…so I accepted that, downloaded an additional album and then cancelled my account! Wasn't too bad…I download 2 albums and several singles with all that, worthy additions to my music collection!![*]I'm still in touch with the amazing LindsayK, and I've been spreading the word of the book she has recently had published, and I looked for it on iBooks on my iPhone and sadly it wasn't there…I told her I'd look out for an epub formatted copy of the book and purchase it, and she very kindly gave me a pdf copy for free!![*]The doctors that I've been seeing have all been saying that I seem so much more lively and have a real sparkle in my eyes and seem so much more positive compared to even a few weeks ago….I guess having your heart shocked into a normal rhythm can do that for you!!
BAD TIMES
- [*]At this very moment in time…..nothing!!
yamerias✘ Not a clientClear!!!! Bzzzt!! Yes, that seem to be echoing through my ears at the moment, even though it didn't happen lol!!
GOOD TIMES
- I feel so damn alive and healthy!! I've not felt this good since I was 18….and this is all down to having my heart cardioverted (they zapped my heart to get it back into regular rhythm)…no chest pains and the really cool thing is I can actually exert myself a lot more![*]I bought a nice micro stereo yesterday with DAB/Digital TV/DVD and iPhone/USB connections…it was supposed to be £99.99 but I got it at 20% discount…to begin with because they couldn't find the remote…but then they did and the manager said it was a display model so the discount still stands! What was even funnier was this little spoilt brat of a kid wanted it…and I got the last in the store![*]New medication for my diabetes, it is a hormone injection…and it seems to be doing me good too.[*]Bought 3 deluxe edition Queen albums on iTunes, brought back some great memories of when I had them on vinyl!![*]Some awesome dude has sent me a package…I think he is the founder of Insomnialand…is it Marvin or something? 😛 Should be here next week!!
BAD TIMES
- [*]I was hospitalised for a week….I was only supposed to be there 2 days!! Damn virus hit me bad and affected my heart….[*]I'm on moire new medication, this time warfarin, an anticoagulant….and also used as rat poison![*]Sleep pattern is a bit meh, I tend to fall asleep in my chair a lot at the moment, but when I go to bed I'm lucky if I get a few hours…
yamerias✘ Not a clientBeen back attacking iTunes this evening and have downloaded the deluxe editions of Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack, these have also been released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the group Queen…and I plan to get the albums Queen and A Day At The Races next week, so I have the set of 5 deluxe albums…and I'm hoping that the other albums will be released like this soon too!!
yamerias✘ Not a clientAnymore news on this?
yamerias✘ Not a clientI've just added a UK girl group to my iPhone and they are to become a permanent fixture to whatever play I listen to music on…
They are called The Scarletz and they are four lively ladies who's songs are pop and have a slight Madness influence (could be the reason I like them!!) and I was able to get a copy of their Demo EP last year and they recently released a single called Messed Up on iTunes which is great! I really hope they go far because they great!
Also got hold of the Red Flag EP by Billy Talent, I first heard this song playing the game Burnout 3 on my PS2 several years ago and loved it!
yamerias✘ Not a clientAh I see I'm fashionably late to the party…
Firstly, welcome…I know it is a bit late but I'd been quite I'll last few months…it's a great community here!
Secondly, I understand your negativity toward the medical profession quite well, I suffer with several conniptions including epilepsy, depression and diabetes and things got so bad that a couple of years ago I basically turned my back on them all, never went to see them and mist foolishly of all even stopped taking my medication for about a year. Things spiralled out of control, until I registered to a different doctors surgery, that was last September and I finally have a doctor who not only listens but treats me like a intelligent being and not an idiot.
Things are finally getting on track for me, the specialists actually listen to what I have to say, I'm remembering to take my medications…things look good at last!
yamerias✘ Not a clientiPad methinks, although happy with my iPhone 🙂
Skittles….Crazy Cores or Sours?
