Well have you started something Grogz . . . . . I have been in over drive with our new multi-million enterprise and have started our product catalogue as below.

Feel free to add your own product designs and just think . . . This time next year . . . we could be millionaires !!

The Snoozer [ Latin Name : The Sleep Pacifier / Stress Extractor ]

This soft and fluffy wool cloud has been lovingly stuffed with the softest of fillings, designed to take any insomnia induced frustration away, as you gently ( or aggressively, if you prefer ! ) squeeze it as you try to sleep. If this fails you can always hurl it at the wall in frustration, safe in the knowledge that you will not wake any non-insomniac members of the household, thanks to is sympathetic soft design.

The Snoozer is available in 2 variants :

White . . . for nights when you are just short of getting to sleep . . . Product Code : ZZZ

50 Shades of Grey . . . for those dark nights when you just know that sleep is going to escape you . . . Product Code : 666.

Insomnia Dough [ Latin Name : Get Out of the Bread Bin Fatty Hatty ! ]

This cute and squidgy Dough Doll ( inspired by Pilsbury Dough ) is designed to keep those insomniacs with the munchies of out the bread bin / biscuit barrel et al because, lets face it . . . all you really need is something to do with your hands / whirling mind ! When you feel the need to munch . . . just reach for Insomnia Dough and squeeeeeeeeze ( or pull if you prefer ! ) . . . Product Code : 888

This product range is currently under development and we will shortly be launching other insomnia inspired weight monitoring products such as Insomnia Dough Scales and the Little Book of Healthy Recipes that can be safely made in the wee small hours, when your eyes just won’t open !

Tired Teddy x Creative Director ( and sleeping partner ) of Insomnia Productions Inc !

PS My mister read in his high brow newspaper that dummies / baby pacifiers are good for people who snore so perhaps we could do insomnia inspired pacifiers as well . . . individually designed to suit the name each insomniacs give their insomnia !!

I love it! My sleepless brain has been thinking along similar lines 🙂

I have to admit that I had the Etsy shop idea, cos in my migraine forum there's a woman thinking of starting up an Ebay Shop. And someone suggested Etsy to her instead and I suggested “Oh, why don't you (also) stock products for migraineurs?”

Anyway, one of the forum members posted some infos for her about using Etsy, so I'll copy and paste them here…

(Oh, btw, my photos are from on-line… I used the image function – that little square with the green inside on the menu thingee – and put in the URL of the picture… Not sure how to upload one from your own computer…

        Here's that Etsy info:

Are you an Arts & Crafts person? Do you handmake anything that you think others might like? I would encourage you to look around Etsy and see what people are selling. Maybe you could find something that would start off as a hobby and turn into a home business. I love it! I make my beads at home in my garage when I feel good enough to work. Taking photos and posting on the computer is very easy. Maybe you could have someone show you how to do it the first time and help you get comfortable.

        Check out YouTube

        * How to Start an Etsy Shop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI0poTpkjB8)

*How to List a Product (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr2mdN3gt6M)

There are a ton of tutorials on YouTube that may be interesting for you. Etsy also has a ton of tutorials. Check out the one on taking photos (http://www.etsy.com/community/online-labs).

With regards to shipping. I would recommend setting up an account with UPS, Fed-Ex, US Postal Service. You can actually weigh you box at home (on a bathroom scale) and print a shipping label with postage prepaid. Then it's just a matter of taking you box to UPS/Fed-Ex/USPS and dropping it off. No standing in line and waiting. You can even ask you carrier if you can leave the boxes at you garage door for pickup. Since the postage has already been paid online, they should be willing to pick it up.

I don't sell on Ebay anymore. A lot of people have switched over from “Fee-Bay” to Etsy. It's cheaper and your listing stays online for a month for 20 cents. Ebay's listings are only for a week.

Oh! Just so I don't forget and neglect my sleep journal in all this excitement 😎

I fell asleep at about 7am (I think – can't quite work it out… I'm pretty sure that the last time I got up to have a snack cos my stomach was grumbling was at 6:30am (kitchen clock – my alarm is facing the wall) but not sure – maybe I'm hallucinating in my insomniac stupor…) and have now woken up at 1:00 o'clock lunchtime…

It feels weird to have suddenly sorted out “what to do” and “what not to do” when I can't sleep at night – to now realise that my bigger challenge is working out what do do/ not to do when Ihit one of those very tired/ sooky patches during the day… Well, I guess I will learn, if not by a smarter way, then by trial and error…

Oh, P.S. Teddy, I think you can use “Photobucket” to put a picture on your computer online and then upload it with that URL. I've not tried it before, but it's meant to be relatively simple..

          Have and easy day

Btw, do you realise we will/would go out of business, if we cure our insomnia…?! D'oh!!!

Oh we will never go out of business because insomnia brought us together and will not tear us apart . . . Plus we will be the brains of the enterprise and remenber we will be supporting lots of new insomniacs along the way who can do all the work for us while they are looking for something to do in the wee small hours ! – Double D'oh !!

I will try to fathom how to do photos when I have more time as I have started to ice my cake and am just waiting for the marzipan to set a bit before I put the icing on. I am then going to pin out my pattern and then put the hundreds of silver beads on. I am going to do this is phases so that I don't lose focus and make a blob . . . Or fall asleep on my cake before it is finished ! I will put a photo on here when it is completed if I ever learn how to do it.

I have got our logo and tag for each product all ready to post when I can . . .

              Take care and post soon

                Haha, you're cool!

Hey can you ask hubby-to-be which newspaper it was re that pacifier article and the approx date (ie the month) cause I like having research to back this kind of stuff up. It sounds sort of like a cheap and easy version of this product, which also helps stop jaw clenching at night, which can help to prevent migraines: “NTItss Mouthguard”…

So, do you think that we're just brilliantly creative entrepreneurs, or has our insomnia made us be manic??

My day is going well by the way – I have split it into hourly sections and put nap-preventing activities in each of the hour slots, so I'm just focussing on nap-avoidance 1 hour at a time and so far it's working very well (today, at least) – there's not a nap in sight… Woohoo!!

Can't wait to see your cake and icing! When is this fantastsic wedding going to take place, then?

Well, I must get off the laptop and sofa – NAP-AVOIDANCE ALARM 😮

                  Us manic . . . NOOOOOOO . . . I'm schizophrenic . . . SO AM I !!!!!!

well done you and what a great strategy on the naps. Mine is I have changed the bedding and will not get back in until I have crisply ironed the sheets before putting them back on and I have the meal in the oven so bedding ( and sleep ) will have to wait !

I have decided to save putting the icing on until tomorrow, or if I I am up in the wee small hours so that the marzipan sets more.

We are getting married on 17 March 2013 . . . 12 years to the day we met. It is a very small ceremony for 7 people, including the insomniac bride and groom.

Just asked grumpy draws which paper and he can't remember . . . He has got MANopawsal memory loss . . . It was one day earlier this week when he mentioned it, if that helps

Keep up the good work and post soon.

                    Ah, here we go:

                    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2255457/Snoring-Sucking-dummy-cure-Britains-million-snorers.html

I'm having a (legitimate) break to do some back strengthening exercises…

i'm having a power-tool day (building some desperately needed shelves) so I need to look after my back…

Only potential “problem” is that you do most of them lying down on your back and they have all these relaxation techniques built in, so that the muscles you are strengthening also stay un-tense… and the whole thing is sooo relaxing, it could send me off to sleep. So I'm putting on a timer too, for 30 mins… Really hope that that will do the trick!!!!!!

Thanks for the article . . . Interesting reading . . . I may try an ordinary dummy first, rather than lay out £70 as it should do a similar thing – how attractive will I look with my rollers and dummy in for bed time !

How are your shelves going . . . Did you finish them, or have a snooze after your back stretches ?

I haven't had a snooze yet . . . I had just settled and was about to drop off when the phone rang and I am all awake again now. The way things are going I should sleep well tonight as I will be really tired . . . Well here's hoping anyway !

My man was telling me over our meal how he wakes up every morning c 3 am like I didnt know what waking up at that time every day was like ! I did ask him how he was spelling INSOMNIA, just to make sure he knows what it is. I must be very contagious as he has now got the MANopaws and insomnia . . . He is so loving and caring and likes sharing . . . but there is only room for one insomniac in this house !

I will close now as I am considering putting the icing on my cake while I feel awake so that I am ready for my first phase of decoration when I get up tomorrow.

                      Ciao for Now

Not sure how good the combination of insomnia and power tools are… These shelves are mighty crooked… Well, not so much crooked, as higgeldy-piggeldy… A good thing they're just for the cellar…! I'm not sure they would pass muster otherwise… They truly look as if an insomniac has made them… So full points for “authenticity”, Groggy!!

Oh, I think for jaw-clenching, a normal pacifier might work. But the snoring one is special in that it holds your tongue up front via suction/ a little vaccuum – in your sleep-deprived state, you may have missed that paragraph of the article… So I doubt a conventional one would help with snoring… And I dunno if I understood the article right, but it seemed like they're not actually for sale YET?? Like they need further testing before they go on the market?? So not really sure what the use of that article was…?

That did make me laugh and I can see them now . . . Can't wait to hear how they hold up when loaded up !

So much for icing the cake . . . I am lazily lolled on the settee only a few mins after announcing I was awake and I don't fancy my eyes chances of staying open !

Aargh, I just realised that sounded really rude saying “Not sure what the use of that article was?” – I meant what use of the journalist having written it! Sorry… if I start writing things here that sound FULL RUDE, it's my insomnia making me express myself REALLY BADLY. I'm a pretty polite person, really, so if anything I write sounds offensive, just check with me instead of being offended, yeah?! 😆

I did get the bit about the suction etc and that they were probably not available. My theory on the standard pacifier is that at least it would keep my mouth shut and there are not many things that can do that. Keeping my mouth shut should at least help with the volume of the snores !
