No offence taken . . . You could have been right and were only pointing important parts of the article out.
I have never found anything you have posted rude so keep em coming, just as they are, or as they come to mind
January 5, 2013 at 9:14 pm #14382Yeah, nah, I meant that more as a precaution… sometimes tiredness makes me miss things, ignore things, word things wrong, be self-centred… Just wanted to clarify 🙂
Ach, I'm now so tired that I can't motivate myself to get up off the sofa and into bed! I'm STUCK on the sofa – heeeeeeelp!!! Haha 😮
Well, I didn't have any naps today (well done, me) unless I did but I dreamt that I was awake?? I guess I'll never know!
Very curious as to whether Scrumble the Insomnia Monster will let me sleep tonight. She is so unpredictable!! Whenever I think I know what she's gonna do, she goes and does something else entirely… So, anything is possible! 😉
Sweet dreams Teddy

January 5, 2013 at 10:46 pm #14383Still on the sofa, at quarter to midnight… I am determined to get up – any moment now… Pffffft! <_<
January 5, 2013 at 11:00 pm #14384Well, I finally made the lengthy journey over to the bed.
I don't want to count my chickens before they are hatched, but I *think* I may be feeling genuine “evening tiredness” for the first time in a fortnight…
So – JUST IN CASE – I don't post here anymore tonight – who knows??? – have a good start to your Sunday, Teddy!

Good on you tiring yourself out enough to sleep when in bed . . . Hopefully !
Well I got sent to bed at 9 pm as it was either bed or my man was getting in it for his insomnia ! He laughed as I threw myself off the sofa ( not a pretty sight ) with eyes closed as I didn't have the energy to move and like you that sofa was soooo flaming COMFTY !
Anyway . . . Tired Ted got on the bed with soothing Classic FM quietly playing in the background . . . I had a bit of a struggle with my MH assessment whizzing through my head and then Alla Kazan ( apols for the spelling ) I was in the land of nod. Got woken up a few mins ago with a not so nice dream and my bowel, otherwise I would have tried to roll back over – Rover !
I have now realised that my bowel, or bladder ( or a hot flush which obviously raises my temperature ) seems to wake me up between midnight and 1 am every day so perhaps I should join ' weak bowels and bladders R US ' as well ! This never used to bother me until my ovary decided to stick itself to my bowel and bladder – Ovarian Entrapment Syndrome does not feel quite so glamorous this morning !
I thought about listening to one of my meditation apps but couldn't be bothered When I got out of bed 10 mins ago and I feel a bit grumpy but I am going to try anyway, if only to make be feel less grouchy. If If I am not bobbing of by the end of it I will ice you know who !
Sweet dreams and I am here if not !!!!
Tetchy Tired Teddy x
January 6, 2013 at 2:00 am #14386Gah – no such luck… I *am* actually sleepy – but nope, still not falling asleep. My insomnia monster being unpredictable, yet again.
Ach, Teddy, you're up too!
Poor you with your Entrapment! Bloody Gyn conditions, ey? I get menstrual migraine (and may have endometriosis – tho I'm trying not to think about that…) and my best friend has PCOS… I mean, who needs this stuff??? I'm going to google your thing, cos I've not heard of it before… Hm, actually google is not very forthcoming on this!
So are you in a menopause forum?
Ach, I can't be bothered doing any more on my purse sewing tonight… I'm just a little too sleepy to do stuff, and just not quite sleepy enough to nod off… I may watch a bit more TV and wait for the sleepiness proper to kick in…
Thinking of ya!
Bye from Groggy and Scrumble…
January 6, 2013 at 3:53 am #14387Pooper scooper… It's 4:40am and sleep still not in sight.
I was so sure I was going to sleep earlier today, since I felt so sleepy.
But I will be patient. I will try and get through tomorrow without any naps again and then give things a new try tomorrow night.
I feel like I'm on the right track with it now, which feels like a great relief compared to feeling helpless and not knowing what to do…
Well, right now I'm trying to work out what time to set my alarm clock for… on a Sunday. Don't want to leave it too late, but too early would seem cruel and mean too! How about 9:30? I think that that sounds like a very good compromise…
January 6, 2013 at 5:19 am #14388Thats very positive setting your alarm 5 hours ahead !
Great to read you are not letting Insomnia Nights bother you . . . I think that is a mile stone . . . I definitely felt less frazzled once I accepted it for what it was and just got on with it . . . I really do believe the more you try to sleep and get angry because you can't, the less chance you have of actually getting some much needed sleep – thanks for sewing that seed Martin, it has been a real turning point for me.
I had a bit of a bumpy night but I think it is due to my bladder / bowel being over active ( because I had too much to eat and drink . . . Well, it was the weekend, and they equal treats don't they ! ), plus dodgy MH assessment thoughts and a dash of being more than disappointed at not getting to sleep . . . Naughty Tired TEDDY . . . note to self . . . Take notice of your own flipping advice !
I was debating whether to get up when I put Classic FM on and was amazed to find it was almost 5 am and a decent enough time to get up. The best bit was one of my favourite pieces of music was playing and I always think it ( songs of the auvergne bailero by Joseph Canteloube ) is a bit like an awakening song so . . . Decision made . . . Hi Ho . . . Hi Ho . . . off to ice my cake I go !!! With a lovely big pot of Italian dark fresh coffee . . . Perfetto !
Have a good one and post to you soon

January 6, 2013 at 8:03 am #14389Well am I pleased with my little self . . . Who needs 8 hours sleep to be able to concentrate!
Decorated you know what and it looks F . A . B ! This has cheered me up no end as I wasn't sure how it would work out as it was my first attempt . . . Had a few tetchy moments when some silver balls went AWOL when my concentrated slipped a bit and had to change the way I did it a bit – just hope the balls stay on without the icing glue, which didn't do what I wanted but hopefully they will cement in place as the icing hardens. Just need to make a romantic label for the top of the box before I file it away under Special Days til March
Yours with a much happier face and other bits and bobs . . .
Inspired Teddy who now needs a new project for the wee small hours x
January 6, 2013 at 10:47 am #14390Forgot to reply re your question asking if I have joined a menopausal forum earlier . . . Thought about it then didn't bother as they are likely to be too hormanally challenged for my sense of humour. At least insomniacs are usually too tired to be offended !! My reply was triggered by a post I put on Facebook after my tidy up this morning as detailed below :
Just packing Christmas away for another year and realised that poor old Frosty The Snowman hadn't had his batteries put in this year and he had been unusually quiet . . . . Burst into fits of menopawsal laughter when Steve said he has probably started the SNOWMANOPAWS !!
January 6, 2013 at 2:34 pm #14391Hey Teddy,
Aw, I can see you now, icing that cake – I bet it turned out completely lovely!!
I'm too *groggy* to write much right now, just gonna update my sleep journal and check in again later…
Fell asleep around 6am and then didn't hear the alarm so my brain and body have sneakily taken their 9 hours of sleep and I woke up at 3:00 in the afternoon.
I guess I am a little disappointed, but that's silly really. I'm moving in the right direction with this, so I just need to approach the rest of the day and tonight as well as I can.
Catch you later Funny Teddy (love that sense of humour!)

January 6, 2013 at 3:32 pm #14392Okay Sunday, watch out, here I come…!
Ah, Teddy, I'm trying to plan my hourly ANTI-NAP activities as I have my morning coffee at a totally wrong time of day…
Hey, do you get the impression that we're the only 2 people in this forum at the moment? It's a good thing we get along, huh?!?!? 😆
I understand your concerns re a Menohpawsal Forum – but maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised… maybe they are all crotchety women, grumbling away with a black sense of humour and telling the world to go stuff itself?!?! Haha, times change you know, so I assume menohpawsal women do too! (And I don't mean that description to sound negative – I think women should be much more crotchety about all sorts of stuff!! Girl power!!!!)
Hey, wanna do menohpaws products in our Etsy shop too? Cos I don't think we have to limit ourselves to insomnia products — I think the products just have to be produced by bleary, red-eyed insomniacs in the wee hours of the morning…. 😛
Right… gonna try and do my hourly plan and check in here again in a bit…

January 6, 2013 at 3:49 pm #14393Ahh, just worked out how to use the message thingee in my sleep-addled state… I sent you one.. (tis boring tho – so don't get excited!!) Haha
January 6, 2013 at 6:54 pm #14394Hi Groggy
Well . . . I had to type the first 2 words above 4 times as I feel half asleep and my fingers are typing rubbish . . . When I am this tired my text is more like a script from 'Ello 'Ello !
I laughed at your bit about us being the only 2 insomniacs in the village as I nearly started a new tread early this morning entitled IS THERE ANYBODY THERE ?
I have seen an email telling me that I am in demand and that you have started a new conversation for me to join . . . Heckies . . . I haven't been in demand for years . . . more than likely because I have been soooo tired ! Will look at the new conv as soon as I have posted thos one . . . 'Ello 'Ello !
Get you having 9 hours sleep . . . I bobed off for a couple of hours this aft and I have to say I felt ” groggy ” when I woke up and it took a while for the old eyes to fully open.
It is a great night on the TV with a few of my favourite shows starting so I am hoping to stay awake to watch them all until 10 pm but I have taped them all, as the chances of that happening are a bit remote !
How are your anti-nap activities going ? I still haven't got a new project planned for the wee small hours so I am going to have to sleep through . . . Did you hear that insomnia !!!!!!!
I had a look on the menopausal sites earlier but didn't have much luck . . . Perhaps I needed to be more awake !
Great idea on adding menopawsal items to Insomnia Productions Inc . . . Lots of menopawsiacs suffer from insomnia so that is a win . . win . . We just need to get some little workers to do the donkey work now we are getting some sleep !
Right . . . I am offski as Dancing on Ice has started and I want to get all excited and read your other message.
Keeeeeeeeep sleeping !
Tired Ted
January 7, 2013 at 12:52 am #14395Ah, well, 'Ello 'Ello then! 😉
Maybe the script writers were insomniacs too?
I'm now in bed, with a doggy curled up tight next to me. We are looking after a friend's dog for a week and she is THE MOST gorgeous dog ever… Seeing as she's very clean – she has a really short, incredibly shiny black coat (we always compare her with a seal!) and is washed every week and she's been a “bed dog” all her life… we let her hop in bed here too, when she visits… Just bung the sheets etc in the washing machine when she leaves and voila.
She's such a funny dog. She ADORES cuddling!! The first time she ever slept here, she woke me up every HOUR during the night to ask “Are you awake?! Shall we have a cuddle?!” Haha…!
I'm curious to see what effect the presence of a snoozing pooch will have on my insomnia?
Hope you're doing well… Crossing my fingers for you that you either find a great new creative project for the wee hours or that you don't end up needing one…
Sweet dreams
