Yup, similar. I actually found it in a few stores in NYC – very expensive though. It's definitely an acquired taste – I fear that if you aren't raised on it, you'll find it to be the most disgusting substance ever invented!

I've just blogged about the banning of Human Centipede 2…and I forgot to mention here that the first movie seemed to shock a lot of people and made some physically sick….but I was bored rigid and didn't really see what was so special about it.

Apparently the first one is like My Little Pony compared to the sequel. Probably the best thing to happen to that movie from the maker's viewpoint was having it banned – millions in free publicity and hype.

I'm afraid the libraries in Belgium are not that advanced yet. But I don't mind. The selection e-books in Dutch is very small, about 4.000 titles. Which for me, is very limited. So I switched to reading in English.

Not only are there more titles available, I can keep up-to-date with my favorite authors. Translations tend to be coming late or not at all in our little country.

I wish I could just learn another language to expand my reading list!! Actually, learning another language fluently is still a life goal of mine. Need to get started on that one!

I am reading a book called 'The Worst Jobs in History' http://www.unofficialtonyrobinsonwebsite.co.uk/pages/worst_jobs/worst_jobs.htm for the official website. Some of the stories make grim reading like:

The Spit boy – who had to turn the spit over a roaring fire at Hampton Court, and ended up almost being cooked themselves by the heat.

Grooms of the stool – well someone had to wipe King Henry the 8th's bottom.

I think I could do with a groom of the stool. Any takers?

Welcome to Insomnia Land, Ella – perhaps the one good thing about insomnia is it instantly connects you to a great group of people 😉

Will this be your first time visiting a sleep clinic? What are you hoping they'll be able to tell you, or offer?

I look forward to reading more of your posts and getting to know you better.

Yup, the only one to ever do that to me to this very day. Not as scary on a second viewing but I'll never forget the first time I saw it. Wow.

I think it's the type of movie that either terrifies you or bores you. I've never come across anyone with an opinion in between the two extremes.

Welcome to our merry band of insomniacs, Christine. Thanks for joining us and introducing yourself. Are you finding your physician is generally helpful when dealing with your insomnia, or do they just stick you on new meds each time? I would be interested to know if you've sought the advice of a sleep specialist or other doctor who you found supportive.

Thought I'd add this to the natural solutions thread. So far for the past 1 1/2 weeks Magnesium Citrate has been working for me (with my luck now that I've said it, it'll stop working).

Cherry Juice (not tart) worked for a couple days then stopped (suppose to contain melatonin).

5-htp works for me for about a week, and then stops and has the opposite effect.

I was doing the Mucinex protocol (Guaifenesin) which is used for fibromyalgia – that was making insomnia worse (I reintroduced this alone without the magnesium).

I was also using vitamin A cream + drinking alot of carrot juice. I don't know if that was exacerbating insomnia, but I did read too much Vit. A can cause insomnia.

And to top it off, I was using echinacea, which apparently recycles cortisol, so that can keep you up as well!

But I did notice after cutting all that other stuff out, if I don't take magnesium before bed (separately from vitamins) I'll stay up an extra 2 hours.

Thank you so much for sharing – this will definitely be of help to other members. Do keep us updated on the Magnesium Citrate. If it works, I want more details so I can post about it on the blog.

I recently watched OSS 117 and would really recommend it. It's a French parody of James Bond. Very funny and a movie I hadn't heard of until my wife randomly put it on.
