Flight would be awesome. Talking about flight, when you dream about flying (come on, we all have) how do you do it? In my dreams I always flap my arms really fast when running and then boom, I take off. Curious to know if I'm employing the same method as others!

No flapping of arms, it's more like Superman, who just, does it.

Perhaps, but it makes it a good night for the rest of us at Insomnia Land – we miss your posts when you go AWOL on us!!

You sound pretty handy – fancy coming over and fixing the plumbing under my kitchen sink?

I'm not too bad at plumbing but I've not had much experience with it 🙂

Also yeah, I vanish, and then bleh. IDK. I'm just glad there's this place to come back to when I need to. It's always a relief when I don't have to hear “Oh have you tried this and this? Maybe you just don't set a proper sleep pattern.” It makes me want to stab people.

Wait… people read instruction manuals?! 😎

I read every instruction manual ever. And practically memorise them 😀

Right now I'm reading several books, one on ancient Greece and one the Enlightenment, plus I'm rereading the complete Oz set, and all the Alice books.

Good grief I'm posting a lot tonight/morning. What can I say, it's a bad night.

So far this weekend I spent all Saturday morning in bed until I convinced my son to make coffee for me. Then I completely cleaned the kitchen and finished recaulking around the bath, and then caulked around the kitchen sink (the morons who installed it did a horrendous job so I just decided to fix it). I also finished painting the bathroom and the shelves, which I'm putting up later today. I'm also going to be caulking around the floor in the bathroom and the WC because I put new lino down and I want to seal the edges. My dad is visiting from America in two weeks, and I haven't seen him since I moved back to England (about 4 years ago) and I want him to see that I'm settled here, and good (I was not good at all when I left there).

So yeah, taking it pretty easy this weekend. 😀 Thank goodness for my pain meds.

I think Inception was about one of the most boring films made. I understood it. I just thought it was boring.

I love every Predator and Alien movie ever made. When my kids and I can't decide on a movie to watch (we watch one together every night before bed) we usually default to one of the Predator movies (often Predator v Alien or the most recent, Predators).

As for which movie I consider overrated? Every rom com/chick flick ever made. Also, if there aren't any explosions involved in the movie (if it's made by Simon Pegg or is Dutch I can forgive the lack) then I probably won't even bother. Just about every Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro movie.

Also, I just noticed, Martin, the title you added under my icon there. I adore you for that, ok? And for this site, too. But you know. That title. I'm so adding that to my bios on all my other sites.

As a comic geek, this is something I've considered. Many times. In depth maybe. With others. As a very serious discussion. All in all, I think I'd like flight. Not wings, like Angel, and not something like Cannonball has. Maybe more in the vein of Ms Marvel? I'd really like to be just like Wonder Woman (what can I say, one of the first things I remember wearing is Wonder Woman Underoos 😀 ). I'd say Batman (I do have a Batman tattoo after all) but he doesn't have super powers (which, frankly, makes him the best of them all).

Hi Ella! Welcome to the forum. I find a lot of people have had insomnia for years, but I don't come across a lot who have had it since they were very young. I've suffered with it since I was a baby, according to my parents. I never slept much, or well, since I was less than a year old (I'm almost 35 now). So I empathise with you. Sleep clinics didn't do much to help me, but I sincerely hope that they find something that can help you. Best wishes with it!

I'm so practical about everything that I rarely think in terms of positive and negative aspects. It either has to be one way or another way, and that's how it is.

But I suppose that if I didn't have my kids I would be in a much worse shape. And it's a sort of typical answer from a parent but it's the truth for me. They make me keep focus and do what I need to do, so I'm going with that 🙂

I'm sorry, I can't talk to Yorkshiremen. ;D Up Lancashire way here. Punk is a way of life (that I respect but it isn't for me).

Any way. Welcome to the forum.

I find the weather really does influence my sleep patterns. The more the weather changes, along with the barometric pressure, the worse I sleep. I sleep pretty badly as it is, but the weather is a big influence and the weather up here has been insane the last couple of months.

    *waves*
