Thanks for sharing. I'd be interested to hear whether anyone else has had a positive experience using Zopiclone. I'm moving this thread to the insomnia forum, rather than the introductions area so that more members will come across it.

It's nice to hear a more positive story every now and again.

Welcome to Insomnia Land, Reebooka and thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself. Sounds like a sleep therapist would be a good idea – I hope you'll keep us updated on how that works out for you. What has been the most effective treatment you've tried up to now?

Welcome aboard, Bob. Most of our members are insomniacs rather than individuals suffering from OSA – that said, we welcome all members who struggle with sleep. How is your sleep now that you're using the CPAP, meds and sleepwave device?

Welcome to Insomnia Land, Marc. You're right – you're not alone, even though it can feel like it. We're hear to support you during this struggle and we understand the challenges you're facing.

Is there no way you can get a doctor's note to give you a few more days off work without worrying about your job security? Have you tried having an honest discussion with your employer about your sleep problems? Who knows, perhaps they'll be more accommodating than you'd expect.

Perhaps you could push your doctor for some other treatments that may not rely on pharmaceutical intervention. Have you heard of CBT for insomnia? Does the tinnitus itself keep you awake?

I experience myoclonic jerk almost nightly while trying to fall asleep. It's more like a sensation that I feel like I'm falling and all of a sudden my whole body twitches in one grand motion and I'm jolted awake. Look it up. Is this what you've been feeling?

My wife actually experiences this. Sometimes she twitches so strongly it gives me a start. She sleeps fine once she's asleep, though.

I'd be really interested in hearing more about how the brain therapy works out for you, since I've covered it a couple of times on the blog.

Perhaps you'd be so kind as to start a new discussion topic about it when you begin the treatment?

This is a great discussion. I've merged the newer Xanax discussion with this one so it's easier to refer to.

Welcome to Insomnia Land, Michelle. You've already seen for yourself that we're a supportive bunch here, so you no longer need to feel as though you're not understood – you've now got a fantastic support group and we all look after one another here.

First, have you sought medical advice or treatment for your sleep other than a pharmaceutical treatment? The fact that you can sleep at certain times suggests a delayed sleep phase disorder (but I'm no doctor).

Have you tried openly and honestly explaining the problems you have with sleep to your children and boyfriend? If they have a better understanding that much of your sleep and perceived “laziness” is something you cannot control, they may be more willing to accept things (and be more understanding). Perhaps they could even pitch in on some of the housework so you have one less thing to worry about.

Do keep us updated, and know that we've all got your back.

Thanks for the update, Matt. I hope you remain as an active member of Insomnia Land so we can continue to offer you support (and you can continue to offer support to other members).

Did your doctor offer you any advice other than to let him know if the night sweats continue?
