★ AdminWe've got one review back in from xdunlapx – here's a link to it on the blog: http://www.insomnialand.com/blog/escape-to-sleep-sleep-tonic-review/.
We still have one more sample available for US-based reviewers if anyone is interested.

Is there any kind of 'life monitor' device your husband would be willing to use in the case of a future emergency so that you can at least feel a little less pressure to always remain alert in case he needs help again? I was thinking specifically about those buttons you wear or have nearby that can be pressed in the case of an emergency that will immediately contact a monitoring company or the emergency services.
Your experience with the sleep study sounds rather common when comparing it to those of other Insomnia Land members. Please keep us updated with your progress. Since your experience is fact, and not a work of fiction, would you mind if I moved this thread to the Sleep Deprivation forum? I think more people would see it there and it would be valuable for other members to have this thread more accessible and visible.

My apologies if my post wasn't particularly clear. I was also advocating a doctor's visit, I just wanted to offer some comfort to Matt that it may not be something too serious. That being said, I wrote the post after he had decided to speak with the doctor so hopefully he'll give us an update before too long.
Your advice about visiting a doctor is absolutely spot-on and I would never want to infer otherwise.

★ AdminWelcome to Insomnia Land, Brighteyes – and thank you for introducing yourself. You're not the only member here who has traced back their sleep problems to the birth of a child – hopefully one or two of them will chime in here with some additional support.
Have you spoken with a doctor about your lack of sleep? Not all doctors will immediately subscribe medication. Keep us updated and know that however your sleep progresses, you've always got the support of everyone here at Insomnia Land.
I look forward to getting to know you.

★ Admin'AliDeal' wrote on '01:So, with Martins indulgence, perhaps we can discuss this subject more, both men and women can learn much about the impact of insomnia and other issues around this time in a women's life.
Please do – I think it would be a hugely valuable discussion. Perhaps you could start a discussion on the topic in the Sleep Deprivation forum for the benefit of all members?

First, let me say that I am sorry to hear about what happened to you – it just goes to show just how damaging and debilitating insomnia can be. Stories like yours (whilst shocking) need to be shared if we're ever to change society's attitude towards sleep deprivation.
Please know that regardless of what happens in your personal life, you always have the support of your fellow insomniacs here at Insomnia Land. I hope you and your husband can have a constructive discussion over the events that happened and that he will realize that your hospitalization was not your fault.
Have you been given any referrals to either a sleep specialist or psychologist? Although I am no doctor, it doesn't seem wise for you not to get targeted and specific assistance for your sleep deprivation after this experience.
PS – I just noticed this was posted in the Writer's Corner… it was either a very convincing work of fiction, or a very honest and open account of your experience with insomnia. I'd love to know which it is!

★ AdminWelcome to Insomnia Land, Matt. As you've already seen, we're a friendly and supportive bunch of people here. Although we use the singular term 'insomniac' to describe members, as you'll see (and have probably already noticed) everyone has their own unique issue with sleep.
Keep in touch, and I look forward to getting to know you better.

★ AdminWelcome to Insomnia Land, Caz – and thank you for introducing yourself. If you have any suggestions as to how I can make Insomnia Land easier to use for the partially sighted, please let me know. In the meantime, take a look around and feel better knowing that you no longer have to suffer with insomnia alone, or in silence. We're all here to support one another.
I look forward to reading more of your posts and getting to know you better.

★ AdminSometimes I wake up in a sweat after a particularly intense dream. In any case, if you're concerned, speaking to your doctor is the best advice. How did it go? Did you get any suggestions or useful feedback?

★ AdminThank you so much for sharing – I know this will be very helpful for other members. Good luck, and keep us updated. It would also be good if other members who may have tried or have questions about Coffea chime in on this thread, too.

First, congratulations on getting one night of good sleep – that must have felt amazing. I can only imagine your frustration when your insomnia resumed business as normal the following night.
I know that Celexa has been mentioned a few times here in the forums; take a look at this thread for starters: http://www.insomnialand.com/topic/103-insomnia-medications/page__hl__Celexa
Hopefully some members who have used this medication will chime in on this thread and offer their opinions and experience, too. Also, don't be shy about sending members a private message if they mention they've used the drug – they will be more than happy to hear from you.
We're all in this together.

★ AdminWelcome to Insomnia Land, Alli – and thank you for introducing yourself. Please keep us updated on your experiment with Coffea – perhaps you could even start a new discussion topic on this in the insomnia forum. I have to admit, it's something I've not heard of before.
In my research for the Insomnia Land blog, and from getting involved in the community here I have to say that insomnia does seem to be particularly prevalent amongst creative types. I haven't decided whether it's a curse or if it helps us come up with original ideas (could insomnia be what makes us creative, or does creativity cause insomnia?).
Anyway, that's a discussion for another day! Welcome aboard – I look forward to getting to know you better 🙂

★ AdminThanks for your input, Becky. Hopefully some other members will chime in, too. I've written about acupuncture and acupressure a couple of times on the blog – I am sure it helps some people, but as with any 'cure' related to insomnia, it will work great for some and do nothing for others. Still, I'd say it's something worth trying.

★ AdminWelcome to Insomnia Land, jessallie. We may not be able to cure your sleep problems, but we certainly can offer you plenty of support. I've come across a number of studies that link sleep problems with the menopause so it could well be worth investigating further – you could be on the right track. Apparently, the hormonal changes can wreak sleep havoc. You might want to take a look at our blog for some additional information.
Take a look around and don't be hesitant to get involved in any of the discussions, regardless of their age. Similarly, don't be scared to start your own discussion topics, either! I look forward to reading more of your posts and getting to know you better.
