    When we left New York, our original expectation was to end up living in San Francisco. I had been there before and loved it, as had my wife. We also have friends that live there.

    When we got there we rented a car for a month and did a lot of travelling up the coast all the way to Seattle. The stops in between (and the journey in general) convinced us that we were done with city life.

    Well, at least for now!

    I really don't think there are any positives to insomnia, other than one insomniac is probably the only person who really can understand another insomniac and therefore is able to show real empathy.

    What about the other suggestions for 'positive' aspects offered by other members? Do you agree with any of those? Insomnia can be tough, and it can be very difficult to look for any positives. Sometimes it can help to dig, though. If only to help you cope.

    This is something I haven't even covered in the blog yet – up to now there hasn't been any conclusive reports (at least that I've come across) that are for or against the use of marijuana for insomnia. Are you able to talk candidly with your doctor about this, or would that be inappropriate?

    • I am single. Me and my girlfriend split up in the New Year.[*]The beginning of December I was struck down with swine flu and a serious chest infection which threatened to hospitalise me for Christmas but thankfully didn't…although things are all clear (as to speak) I'm still recovering, and may well be for another month.[*]I went for a medical check up after my flu diagnosis, and they were trying to check my blood pressure and they could get no reading, but thankfully they did not declare me as dead or a zombie…but gave me an ECG to see what my heart was doing as it was beating a tad rapid (read…VERY fast) and it would appear my atrial fibrillation has reared it's ugly head once more and I could need a cardioversion.

    So yes, interesting times at Yam Towers…

    Sorry to hear about your relationship coming to an end, Yam and sorry to hear about your health issues. Keep us updated and take care of yourself, OK?

I had an appointment with a neurologist, had to wait like half an hour (What's up with that, they give you an appointment but they are never on time). Luckily I had my new book. I finally got an EEG done. (The electricity in my brain is fine) and I had a physical exam. Surprise, everything seems OK, but to be sure: Let's have an MRI and some other spooky test sheduled. Wait and see I guess.

    Well, at least they haven't given up on you yet!
