Well the only film that ever scared me was Blair Witch Project when that was first released. I don't think gore or violence is scary anymore as we've been desensitized to it, like you say. Real fear is the unknown and that's what horror movies should play on, rather than shock/gore/violence.

    Just my 2 cents 😉

I know DozyDame gave Sleep Tracks a try, but it's hard to know if it really helped her. Hopefully she'll chime in and give an update, but here are her previous thoughts:

I've not heard of Pzizz – I'll send this one out in the next Insomniac Bulletin to see if any of our other members have given that product a try.

Well, I'd have to go with Red Bull seeing as I've never tried Monster. Terrible hangovers when mixed with vodka, though!

    Hamsters or Gerbils?

I completely agree with you, and the fact that people just don't get that fact is one reason why I started Insomnia Land.

I don't remember you saying, but have you tried CBT as an alternative to meds in an attempt to get some sleep? What are the disastrous results you speak of when you double your Seroquel?

Remember – we are all here for you. We've got your back.

I'd go with fruit (just) although we can get an absolutely amazing marionberry pie around here.

    Google or Bing?

Watched Insidious last night as everyone was telling me how scary it was. I have to say, it wasn't scary at all and I am still searching for the elusive scary horror movie.

Welcome to Insomnia Land, wonderhussy. We may not be able to find a cure for your insomnia, but we can certainly offer you plenty of support and advice.

You seem to have tried a lot of treatment options; have you been referred to a sleep clinic or a sleep specialist or have all your treatments come from your primary care physician?

I'm sure you'll find plenty of tips here in the community and on our blog. I look forward to getting to know you and reading more of your posts in the future.

What's the 'active ingredient'? Is it melatonin by any chance?

I am preparing a blog post that references an article about 'sleep drinks' – I'll paste the link below for you to take a read. It doesn't include the specific drink you mention, but it should be a relevant read nonetheless:

Finally got around to watching the King's Speech last night. I actually really enjoyed it, but my wife complained after half an hour that it was too slow for her (I could see where she was coming from) but I liked it nonetheless. You could really feel the character's frustration and fears. I'd say Firth was well deserving of the Oscar.

Welcome aboard, Deb. Perhaps the only positive thing about insomnia is being able to join this community of people who know what you're going through (at least to some extent).

Have you tried visiting a sleep specialist or a sleep clinic for targeted advice and treatment options for your insomnia? I look forward to getting to know you better.
